Incarcerated Nation

Healed People-
Heal People.

Surviving the worst times of your life makes you stronger. taking that strength and empowering others is what Credible Messengers do for their Communities. The Incarcerated Nation Credible Messenger Institute (INCMI) is a dynamic training program focused on the development of credible messengers (formerly incarcerated men and women) working in the social service/Public health fields throughout New York City. These mentors help young people navigate community violence and avoid the criminal justice system. Credible messengers are gaining systems-level recognition in New York City as an effective strategy to reduce crime and criminal justice involvement. Post Incarceration redirection & reintegration begins with healing, awareness that allows you to empower and educate others.
WEmakeCHANGE and in that process WE CHANGE.

New York Trauma Center For Returning Citizens (NYTCRC)

Reintegration - NOT - Reentry

One is a appointment to get you a few items, maybe a meal and your off to the race of trying to navigate a new world alone- the other is a profound statement that creates a lifetime support network to assist those returning home to make change. reintegration is a longer road to stability but guided and mentored through those who have successfully made it through that same rough path. we carefully vet all partner service providers to ensure that trauma informed care is at their upmost front end of all services in connection to returning citizens. recognizing that reentry is just being released and reintegration is a process that takes time and assistance is the first step.
